about
Today Tonight is the first single from Her, the second album by lush Melbourne pop quartet Totally Mild, due for release on Chapter Music in February 2018.
Frontperson Elizabeth Mitchell says "Written during a long period of unemployment, Today Tonight is quite literally me passing the days waiting for my girlfriend to come home from work. Sinking into the kind of depression that comes from doing nothing when you have the time to do whatever you want, the guilt of unproductivity. The house becomes a trap, you're not interesting enough to leave it anyway."
Today Tonight is two and a half minutes of soaring pop bliss, with a lustrous video directed by KEWL’s Tobias Willis, referencing cinematic classics of faded glamour and isolation like Sunset Boulevard and A Woman Under the Influence.
Chapter is thrilled to be releasing Her in February 2018 on LP, CD and digital. Her follows on from Totally Mild’s acclaimed 2015 debut Down Time. More details soon!
Great title, song, and album! The kids at 3 O'Clock Rock in Oakland really enjoy this album. Come to Oakland and play a show with us. info@threeoclockrock.com.
Thank you!

Although it´s not really the type of music I'd normally listen to (whatever type of music this may be!) this album was one of my top 10 buys last year, without a doubt. Each song has just the right degree of melodic catchiness to it, without the risk of transforming into an annoying "pop" earworm after a few spins, but what I like best are the beautiful lyrics that deepen in meaning a bit more with each listen, keeping me attentive, worried I might miss something in an ever changing story. ivanerik
